  MARIHUANA ESTABLISHMENTS

  An Ordinance to adopt Chapter 4, Article 8 - Marihuana Establishments, of the Charter Township of Flint Code of Ordinances

 THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF FLINT, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN, ORDAINS:

 4.8-1 Intent.

The Intent of this Ordinance is to exercise the Charter Township of Flints’ authority to prohibit the establishment or operation of marihuana establishments within the Township as such facilities are defined in the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (the “Act”), MCL 333.27951 et seq.

4.8-2 Prohibition.

Pursuant to the Act, Section 6.1, the Township prohibits the establishment or operation of any and all categories of marihuana establishments within its boundaries.

4.8-3 Effective Date.

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately due to the need to protect public health, safety, welfare, and the orderly administration of the affairs of the Charter Township of Flint.

Any ordinance or parts of any ordinance in conflict with any provision of these ordinances are hereby repealed. The ordinances shall become effective upon publication by the Township Clerk.

ATTENTION!

 The Genesee County Metropolitan Alliance will have a meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Willard P. Harris Auditorium, third floor, Genesee County Administration Building, 1101 Beach Street, Flint, Michigan, 48502.  This public meeting is an opportunity for you to review and comment on the following items: a proposed amendment to the FY 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP lists federally funded transportation projects eligible for funding under Title 23 as amended, or Federal Transit Act funds. These projects will be reviewed for Air Quality Conformity and Environmental Justice requirements. This opportunity for the public to review and comment on the amendment complies with the intent of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act. This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment on the TIP is being used to satisfy the public input requirements of the Section 5307 transit Program of Projects. The proposed amendment is available for public review and comment here and at the address below. Call for office hours.
